Shirt to Finnieston Dress Sewing Pattern - How to upcycle a work shirt into a dress - Full Tutorial - Ecofriendly & no new buttonholes

£10.00

This pattern shows you how to use an existing large adult shirt and turn it into a beautiful dress. With the Shirt to Finnieston Dress, you get the benefit of lovely professional tailoring (buttons/collar/cuffs) so all you need to do is some clever cutting and straight sewing. Don’t like buttonholes or zippers - no problem! You use the perfectly made button strip in the existing shirt.

You can get really creative using different fabrics for ruffles, trimmings or using a different bodice fabric. This is a really versatile pattern and you are the designer. The pattern has detailed instructions for three options:

Option 1: Fully lined bodice with no sleeves and a ruffle
Option 2: Part lined bodice with sleeves
Option 3: Original collar with sleeves (unlined)

but there is so much more you can add with different fabric ruffles or bodice. We are big fans of William Morris and Liberty for these matched with good quality cotton shirts.
