Tweedsmuir Top Sewing Pattern - use any fabric or refashion & upcycle a work shirt - includes full tutorial with step by step photos

£8.00

The Tweedsmuir Top is a simple easy sew top which can be made using any fabric or an existing large adult shirt (environmentally friendly upcycle!) and has an option to add a ruffle.

Highlights include:

  • No buttonholes or zippers to do!

  • You can get really creative using different fabrics for ruffles and trimmings (adding Liberty print bias binding or ruffle is a favourite)

  • Full tutorial with step-by-step instructions, photos and illustrations

  • Sizes XS (US0/UK4/EU32) to 3XL (US26/UK30/EU58)

  • Environmentally friendly option to use an existing adult shirt

  • Includes a one page Quick Guide

  • PDF US Letter/A4 Print at Home Pattern plus option for copy shop A1 and 36” printing

  • Confident Beginner level - nothing is too difficult but you can choose the easier options (such as using a shirt and it’s existing hem and using shop bought bias binding) until you feel more confident

Thrift shops are great for picking up a good quality but inexpensive redundant shirts.

We recommend a 17”, 18” or 19” collar shirt (regular fit not slim fit).

We recommend taking the pattern with you if you go thrift shop hunting to check the chest size is wide enough.

For sizes L+ you will probably need to use other fabric to widen the shirt. Page 16 of the instructions show how you can do this.

This is a Digital Download PDF Pattern and Instructions. You do not receive a physical product. On purchase, you will be able to immediately download the product and will also receive an email with a link to the download.

The Pattern Instructions and the Pattern Pages can be printed on a home printer (on A4 or US letter paper). For this pattern, you also receive the Pattern Pages in A1 and 36” format if you prefer to have these printed at a copy shop.

For cyber security, the download attached to the email is available for 24 hours but if you attempt to download it after this period then an email is automatically sent to you with a new link.

The product photographs contain the first 3 pages of the Pattern Instructions giving details on fabric requirements and sizing.
