When I find a fabric that I love, I have to resist the temptation to cover the house in it whether it’s cushions, chairs, bedspreads or pillows!
I love this William Morris Brer Rabbit fabric and got a load of it to re-upholster two chairs (photo no.4 is the “before” photo).
I over-ordered but I love it so have used it for lots of other sewing projects.
Photo 2 is the Nova Scotia Skirt (PDF pattern with full step-by-step instructions available to purchase now. It’s ages 2-16 and I’m working on an adult version to be released in June).
Photo 3 is the Jeans to Dornoch Dress (PDF pattern with full instructions available to buy now).
Photo 5 is the Shirt to Finnieston Dress (pattern available to buy now, ages 2-9).
I usually get the fabric from Laura’s Beau in the UK (no payment/fabric given for the mention, just a genuine comment on where to find the fabric if you like it - it’s usually about £17 a metre for the heavyweight cotton but sometimes they do 10% off on bank holidays etc or free delivery). They have lovely good quality William Morris fabric at a reasonable price.
The design also makes gorgeous wallpaper.
As for the lampshade in photos 1 and 6, I made that using a lampshade making kit from Dannells. Again, no payment or gift received for the mention, just a genuine comment on how to make a lampshade out of your favourite fabric. At the time of writing, the 45cm wide large drum lampshade kit is £23.99. You need to factor in the cost of your fabric but it is still going to be a reasonable cost as compared to buying a lampshade from a store plus you get to make it in your favourite fabric!
